@Tom that was a great call because i was honestly debating between fearow and arcanine before deciding on fearow and lavender town is the best anyway so that works out well

-The only members of a clan who can earn points are members of an elected "point earning" group. This would be equal to the number of point earners for the smallest clan, so the actual size of the clan wouldn't matter and inactive members wouldn't have to be cleared out of groups (let's face it, it would kind of suck to one day decide to come back to this site and see you've been removed from the clan you were in?). Essentially the point earners are that group's warriors. These should be rotated however often so everyone gets a chance to compete if they want
-There needs to be a limit on how many times a day one can post in order to earn points. This would help kill the whole sniping aspect of the game, I'm not sure how much but it would help at least some.
-There should also probably be some more meaningful ways to earn points. I'm a little stumped on this but if we could have contests of some sort for point prizes that would probably be good. Also we could bring the roleplay aspect into this too if we want which I personally think could be neat.
i agree with most of these ideas! an elected group of clan members would also make it feel like an actual warrior clan, which could give a good reputation for ww considering we're a warriors community.
i'm not so sure about limiting earning points in a day's time though... i mean, we could easily resolve that by finally limiting games board from granting pp to posts if there could just be a way for this forum's server to code that. the points per post is already 2, do we really need to limit That?

for meaningful ways of earning points... first yes spells and i have been talking about the battle association a lot and some of our ideas would mean earning points through things that we create ourselves in these challenges. (i actually still had more thoughts on that too spells, i'm sorry i'm so bad at responding more commonly LOL i will try to soon)
my second idea would be that when there are ww site-wide games, members who win the game earn points for either participation or for winning it.
i agree also that it'd still be nice to do occasional clean-ups of the memberlist... i mean yeah it sucks to get kicked out of the clan you wanted to join, but to rectify that disappointment if they logged back in, we could just add a rule stating "if you're inactive for x time, you will be removed from your clan and must request joining it again if you return." and on that train of thought, activity checks are an A+ way of ensuring people stick to their group and stay. it'd even give guests a good idea of how active the place is, which could always be a pushing point for them to join and stay active too.
re: leaderboards, i like moss's idea. it sounds more fun and less of a hassle than overhauling the entire leaderboard design.
re: clan ranks, they'd be fun, but we need some sort of outline of what each rank does... and what about the smaller clans? i'm kinda confused about how they'd be included in ranks bc it'd seem kinda pointless if there was like, 1 leader and 1 deputy or something in the especially smaller ones :s though i guess the banding together idea could help with that.

what if we offered prizes for creating contests as well as winning them? or maybe have a series of events where each usergroup plans some sort of activity (quiz, scavenger hunt, etc.) for the other clans to participate in?
i think i also like these ideas. i'd been thinking for a While it'd be fun for clans to host their own types of events. i've seen certain harry potter sites do that where they let the houses host their own events that have a theme that ties with their group and they were very successful. these might make for neat "gatherings"?

I feel like most people are just saving them up right now, and no one's really spending any.
the reason i'm not spending any of mine is because 1 i don't want to lose ALL my prey points in one go and never be able to save back up to that amount, when i'm an uncommon poster in general. and 2, the cards we get to collect are EXPENSIVE af when they get any rarer than the common 100-pp cards. honestly i think people would maybe spend more if some of the prices were just. lower. maybe

the darkest half-hour and read alouds would also be great to get started back up again

my other idea... ok this would take a LOT of moderation probably or at least a lot of self-discipline etc, but, what if. what if we let ww members--particularly the more loyal ones--host their own ww games? of course they'd have to go through the mods before they could host them, but really it'd ideally work out similar to the way we let people host mafia games. it'd only be more complicated because of needing more characters and whatnot,  but i think it'd be a neat way of boosting activity a lot more? ww games are a very appreciated and popular activity, it gets activity going way up every time. of course there'd be limits to how often they'd take place, since part of their charm is not knowing when they'll pop up in the first place. but it's a thought?

The rectangle that comes up is 225 x 100 pixels; is anyone else getting this when they click and drag the link?

I've tried saving the homepage and looking through the html but I can't find any unusual image files :\
is this what you're seeing or getting at?
(click to show/hide)
if so i don't think it's really related. they said it was right under our noses... inspecting elements is probably trying Too hard right now? dunno though, i'm kind of stumped on what to do lol

3 new posts at once jeez anyway i think the binary code was more on the right track. but like i said i'm stumped, so and then a linking hint that i don't know what to do with either

do you guys notice medication or other things affecting your dreams? i ran out of meds for a couple of days and those were some funky dreams
occasionally, actually. usually i don't dream, but sometimes if it's been a few days since i've taken my daily medication, they'll happen a bit more or i'll have numerous split-second type of dreams that i never remember. most of the dreams i've posted here happened when i hadn't been taking said medication, admittedly.

i don't remember any dreams from recent nights (when i HAVE been taking it daily as i should), i don't think i've had any new ww dreams. the last one i had that i can remember was a weird zero escape + series of unfortunate events crossover that made no sense

i've never taken math any higher than pre-algebra and just know lots of time theories related to infinity
but if you're gonna talk about infinity and the rooftop existing and not existing at once, then the rooftop could be all of us. we could be the rooftop because the "number of floors" is decided by us when we choose our rooms, thus we are the infinite factor in moss's equation

using moss's equation wording it'd be something like...

rooftop = limit of apartments
number of floors = infinity
number of floors = determined with each room chosen by us
each room = determines the number of floors
determined number of floors = decided by us
decided by us = infinity
us = infinity
infinity = rooftop

not sure how much sense that makes all i know is i play zero escape way too much

The rooftop exists in a warp in reality. It is everywhere and nowhere at once.
my favorite kind of explanation for everything ever tbh
i want to write a wwfic presenting this exact theory that involves the apartments as the setting starring us all. but i suck at completing writing projects that i start, evidenced by my 4 personal original writing projects that keep developing but never get written

I just noticed that this existed

Can I live on the rooftop, perchance?

this is an interesting question. can there be a rooftop if there is an infinite number of floors?
i think we actually had a weird conversation about this regarding skyclan some pages back??? i don't remember any conclusion tho so i'll just mark raintalon in the rooftop with like a question mark indicating our infinitely indecisive layout
there's gotta be a rooftop Somewhere in here

well be evicted oh no ;0;
moss and i never did establish evicting rules or anything of the sort when we first created these apartments, we aren't real estate--

but if heat's the dragon then why are you in the basement AND room 666, no one else has two rooms :/ do i need to rename or move the dragon :/

on the note of inappropriate things guys i know for a fact that at least one mod doesn't follow this thread whatsoever and the rest of the mods often seem to not have a lot of time so i don't know if they don't follow this either so pls try to not make me report u for things

Suggestions and Questions / Re: separate sub board for ww fanfics??
« on: November 23, 2015, 06:41:38 PM »
addeh suggested this before as well but i do agree about cluttery stuff, it's still not really totally circulated to the fanfics tab or whatever instead of that board... there are only a small amount of actual (other) writing/homework things in there, it'd be nice to see this get cleaned up by now

Hey should we form like an official Ww editing team? :')

I am okay with this
yooo

i love editing in terms of like, ensuring things are consistent. usually not for things like homework but i am willing to help in proofreading quick homework items so long as it's not a terribly complicated subject... i'm usually better at editing fictional things. but i would definitely join in on an editing team

I don't drive so I honestly don't pay attention to what gas prices are. So I honestly have no clue! :3
me too actually @Darkforestwarrior twins strike again

the most recent price i remember seeing for gas around here was like... 1.80ish, at a less popular station (more popular ones are twice as much i think), and i only really remember because my mom was pointing out how "incredible" that was but i was just (shrugs) because i don't know anything about this stuff lol

i'm the mountain time zone loner. honestly the only mountain time zone people i've ever met were in canada rather than the usa and i don't think i've ever heard of any other ww member to be in this time zone since v1??? or if i have then they've moved time zones by now probably lol

fun fact sometimes i get to share time zones with arizona during one of the dst things despite arizona ultimately being pacific. i forget which dst thing because the only thing i know about time zones is how many hours apart certain places/zones are

that reminds me, i forgot until now but recently i had this dream that i think heat (the heck is the username now i saw it change again recently) and @Tom were in??? i don't know.
it was one of those dreams that was a suuuper vague Hint of knowing what's there but not actually knowing and it was very dim in color/vision. so i have no idea why they might have been in there or what they were doing but i blame having been in mafia recently for this mystery entirely
