If you don't like fanfic and especially if you don't like shipping, then this probably isn't the thread for you. But I know a non-zero amount of us enjoy fanfic, and I feel like we should have a thread to share our favorites and talk about why we enjoy them so much. No ship wars, just fan love.
My recs (trying to cover a lot of ships/gen for all fans!):
Lex Talionis, Kristoph-centric, non-shipping: "Secrets kept even from ourselves are complex, manifesting slowly over the course of our lives. Kristoph Gavin's secrets are no different, twisted though they may be. To understand Kristoph's secrets is to understand the man himself. But some doors are better left unopened."
Somebody That I Used to Know, Matt/Juan: "There were a lot of things that Juan Corrida hated about Matt Engarde. In fact, if you told him to make a list of them all, he'd probably never stop. The number one thing though was that Matt wasn't always like this."
Future of the Past, Blackquill/Phantom: "Certain to get the death sentence, the Phantom asks for one thing in exchange of all the information the police may want from him: his identity, and a name to call his own before he dies. And the Mood Matrix just may be the key to recover his lost memories."
A Turnabout Toast, Phoenix/Edgeworth: "Post-GS4, an estranged Phoenix and Miles respond to a friendly challenge from an unexpected source: do three things each to fix your lives."
Slow Dance, Vera-centric, non-shipping: "After Vera's trial comes an even more difficult struggle: trying to figure out what a normal life is and how to live it."
Datz a Family, non-shipping, Datz and Armie centric: "But even as she clung to him, soaking his shirt with her tears, he knew that he was not the Papa she cried for."
Tsune ni ite, kyuu ni awasu, Athena/Blackquill: "After the events of AA:DD, Athena asks Simon to instruct her in Japanese swordplay in order to feel closer to her mother. However, Simon himself is hesitant to take up the blade again in the wake of the events of seven years ago. With memories of Metis Cykes guiding their actions, they confront the pain of their shared past in an attempt to begin the healing process. Additionally, they have to come to terms with the fact that the respective other is not the person they once knew anymore..."
A Match Made In Neo-Olde Tokyo, Maya/Blackquill: "There was nothing wrong with being a fan of the Steel Samurai, but as a grown man, an ex-convict, and a prosecutor with a knack for being the scariest guy in the room in any given situation, Simon Blackquill had no plans to admit his love of the show to anyone... until a certain spirit medium entered his life. As for Maya Fey, what were the chances she'd meet a REAL samurai, and one willing to watch the Steel Samurai with her, at that? Talk about a reason to celebrate--burgers, anyone?"
Affirmative, Aura/Metis: "Before Psychological Observation and Navigation Companion learns its own name, it learns the names of Mommy Metis and Mama Aura."
Like Sisters, Apollo/Juniper: "Trucy has a list of New Year's Resolutions to finish off before the year is through, and the last item on her list ("Get Polly a girlfriend") remains unchecked. When Athena tells her about a friend of hers who thinks Apollo's a great guy but is too shy to say anything, Trucy figures the key to getting stuffy old Polly on a date may lie in the decorations for the first annual Wright Anything Agency Christmas Party."
Hostile Environments, Apollo/Blackquil: They keep getting themselves locked in rooms together. That's basically the premise.
Archaeology, includes Phoenix/Edgeworth but is not shipping focused: "Phoenix and Maya finally clean out Mia's office. Far, far too many people help."
