this is a good thread i like this thread

so glad i did my shopping yesterday, there's no way i'm going outside today with all the snow. gonna settle in with some fuzzy clothes and hot tea and watch some movies

I got confused for a minute and thought that the general chat thread got locked and deleted or something and then got very concerned.

Okay, everything is spinning and I'm very tired, but I don't have to go to work tonight!!!! I'm so glad they closed the store, because, in addition to the foot of snow on the ground (they said we'd only get a dusting...pfft), I am not mentally stable enough to go to work and deal with my coworkers.

Today is a day of rest and relaxation for me, and I praise the Snow Gods for closing my place of employment today.

watched the first of the six documentaries covering the production of the lotr film trilogy and it was astounding tbh, like i didn't realize just how much work was involved in a production of that scale

like all of the thought that went into the production, not just the big set pieces but also the intricacies of the costume designs and all of the prosthetics/creature designs they made, stuff like that. i'm not that well-versed in film production so maybe some of it is normal for a big production, but like. yikes. making tens of thousands of rubber hobbit feet and having to hand-knot each hair to each foot every single time just sounds beyond tedious

i'm honestly so jealous of sculptors and other artists that can conceptualize things in three dimensions. i'm honestly so bad at that kind of thing, which makes art in general difficult since i have trouble visualizing things like depth. :(

Thank you for making this thread! I was wanting to have a thread like this for a while but never got around to it. 

I am super salty right now because I did have a post written up for this that was long and blabbering about this game, but I forgot to click the always logged in button and it logged me out while typing and I lost it. Perhaps I'll write it out again later when the pain of it all is no longer in my mind.

Today was probably the only day this week I could get away with going to bed at a normal time and instead I stayed up playing video games.
